Join us for Lit Fest at The Allies Pub, an ???-??? ???????? ???????? ?? ???????? ????? celebrating local writers, readers, and the enduring power of words.

Beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, Lit Fest transforms The Allies Pub into a lively gathering place for stories, poetry, conversation, and creativity. ???? ????, ?????? ????? ?? ???????? ?? ?? ?????????, ??????, ??? ?????-???????????? — not an academic conference, but a true literary pub experience where stories are shared as they always have been: in good company.

Throughout the day, guests can drop in and enjoy live readings, poetry, panel conversations, author signings, and interactive literary events both indoors and on the shaded patio. Whether you’re an avid reader, an emerging writer, or simply curious, you’ll find something to spark your imagination.

11:15am | ??????? ???? ?????? ???????? ??????? ???????? ??????: – 7 Inspire School pupils will read out their original poems to kick off the day – Hosted by Becky Brown, Principal – Inspire School

11:45am | ????? ????? ????????: 7 readings from short stories by professional writers – Hosted by Rob Davidson and including readings by: Jean Hegland; Anna Moore; Dimitri Keriotis; Hailey Murphy; Sarah Pape; Casey Lee, & Rob Davidson.

12:45pm | ????? ?????? ???? ???????? – Over 20 local authors will be in attendance to chat about their work and most will have books available to buy and/or to sign.

1:30pm | ? "???? ?? ??????????" ????? – Moderated by Sarah Pape – She will be asking questions to a 6 member panel including: Michelle Ott, Bonnie Pipkin, Susan Browne, Rob Davidson, Nancy Wiegman, & Steve Metzger.

2:30pm | ? ?????????? ??????? featuring Guardian reporter and co-author of Fire in Paradise, Dani Anguiano – Hosted by David Waddell

3pm | ?????? ?? ??? ?????: ?????? ?? ?.?. ?????? – As an introduction to our new monthly challenge, 4 poems will be read – 3 will be by American poets and one will be invented by ChatGPT. The audience will be asked to evaluate the various poems and attempt to decide which was the AI created poem. Hosted by Michael Bertsch. Sign up to take part going forward! 4th Monday of each month. March’s Title-Based Writing Prompt is: “The small box in my attic.”

4pm | ??? ?????? ???? – Hosted by Phillip Hemenway, this is also an introduction to our new monthly spoken word evening where writers and storytellers are invited to share their tales and poems with us. Sign up to take part going forward! 2nd Monday of each month.

5:30pm | ?????? ?????? – Jason Cassidy will lead a musical hour of poems set to music by J.T. Woodhouse & The Leaves Of Grass!

Organizers and participants include regional authors, educators, journalists, and literary hosts such as Nancy Wiegman (NSPR’s Nancy’s Bookshelf), Steve Metzger, Rob Davidson, Michael Bertsch, and others from Chico’s vibrant writing community.
